Brown Girl 'Herstory': Ms. Ella Fitzgerald was the first African-American woman to headline a Super Bowl Half-Time Show in 1972 (Super Bowl VI). Held in New Orleans, the performance was a tribute to the late Louis Armstrong, a Big Easy native who had passed away in the previous year.
